The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) is pleased to announce the release of the 2025 Alaska Higher Education Almanac. In its eighth year of publication, the Almanac offers higher education stakeholders and policymakers meaningful, curated content and data to develop, enhance, and guide educational and workforce opportunities. The Governor signed the FY2026 budget on June 12, 2025. ACPE is pleased to report funding for the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) and Alaska Education Grant (AEG) remains secure for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year. The Higher Education Investment Fund (HEIF) will be utilized to fund FY2025 supplemental budget expenses. The amount that will be drawn from the HEIF will not be known until later this summer or early fall. ACPE is monitoring this situation and working with the Governor and Legislature to ensure the HEIF is positioned to provide continued funding for the APS and AEG programs in future years. ACPE is committed to coordinating with legislators, the State of Alaska, University of Alaska, postsecondary institutions & training providers to honor our commitment to providing education funding solutions for Alaskans.
